Weekly Photo Challenge: Everyday Life

by AbstractUnknownBoy

Eating is part of everyday life for many people on this planet we call Earth. We buy vast amounts of food and over the course of 6 or 7 days we gorge our way through a vast expanse of cupboard space until the interior landscape is barren and bare. This calls for the weekly big shop. Here is a sample of some of the items with which I came back from the supermarket this week. .

*Disclaimer* This is a student’s weekly big shop

Unfortunately however, eating is a difficult part of everyday life for some people and working out where the next meal will come from is a real struggle. If your conscience is poking you in the ribs right now, here are some ways in which you might be able to help:

  1. When you go to Subway for lunch, buy a footlong and donate half to the next homeless person you pass.
  2. Make a food basket to be shipped off to a less economically developed country. Remember to include non-perishable items which will last for a long time.
  3. Buy fair trade goods so you know the producer has been paid a fair wage for his or her endeavours.
  4. Offer your time for free and work in a homeless shelter or soup kitchen preparing and serving food.
